Nagaraphirom Park
In the past, this was the location of the Department of Internal Trade and Public Warehouse Organization. The park was designed to be open-air, with beautiful views of the Chao Phraya and Thai architecture along the river, such as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Phrachetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram, the Grand Palace, Wat Arun Ratcha Wararam, Wat Rakhangkhositraram and the Royal Thai Naval Institute. The park's design also incorporates some of the natural features of the Chao Phraya River, changing with the ebb and flow of the tide during different seasons. Access down to the river is provided via terraced steps and at high-tide, the river actually flows into the park area. At low-tide, the park is used for exercise or relaxation, and also provides the best viewpoint of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
On 26th June 2011, His Majesty the King bestowed the name on the park of 'Nagaraphirom', meaning 'Delightful park for the people of Bangkok '.
